Your Session

What to Wear?

Beautiful colors and denim look amazing in photos as well as more dressy attire.  For group shots, you don't have to completely match but try to coordinate.  Avoid t-shirts or anything with logos on it.  Fun accessories, layers, and textures always add character to photos.  You are welcome to do as many wardrobe changes as you would like.

Where will your session take place?
I am a natural light photographer based in the Conejo Valley.  I have many great ideas for outdoor locations.  We can work together to find a location that will best suit the style you are looking for.

I can also do an indoor studio session for newborns and young children.

Newborn Session
The best time to photograph a newborn is about 1 week old.  Please contact me while you are still pregnant and we will tentatively schedule your newborn session.

1. Make sure your newborn is fed before you arrive and you come when it is his/her sleeping time.
2. When dressing your newborn to come to the session, dress him lightly, like in a onesie (or even just a diaper), so that we don’t have to disturb him too much when taking him out of the carseat. Most, if not all, photographs will be taken with the baby naked (or just a diaper on).
3. Bring your baby up in the car seat.

Things to bring to your newborn session:
  • Diapers and wipes
  • a binky (this is very helpful if they take one)
  • a bottle with breast milk or formula (this saves a ton of time if we can just feed them the bottle instead of nursing)
  • any hats/bows you would like to use for the photos (I will also provide some for you to choose).
  • a black shirt for mom and dad (if you would like to be in the photos)
    Child Session
    Things to bring:
    • A favorite snack (that is not messy)
    • A favorite toy
    • 2-3 outfit changes (optional)
